Sheep & Goat Nutrition Webinar
University of Minnesota Extension and The Ohio State University Extension have partnered with Purina Animal Nutrition to provide a sheep and goat nutrition focused webinar. The webinar begins at 7 p.m. CDT on October 14.
“Fall is an important time to manage our ewes and does as grazing opportunities diminish for most producers,” says Dr. Travis Hoffman, The Ohio State University Extension small ruminant field specialist. “Our forage supply may be in question this year, and supplements or alternative feeds may need to be evaluated for pregnant females prior to lambing/kidding.”
Dr. Patrick Gunn, serves as Senior Nutritionist, R&D, and Technical Solutions for Purina Animal Health, will be leading the discussion evaluating how we can strive to manage our small ruminant females as pregnancy progresses through the fall season. Subpar precipitation across a majority of America makes nutrition a key component of fall management planning for ewes and does.
“Our next year’s lamb and kid crop starts with prenatal development, and preparing our operation for future success,” says Hoffman.
