APHIS Issues Updated Policy Directive on M-44
March 2, 2018

On Thursday, March 1, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services issued an updated policy directive that allows M-44 placement to resume.

“We’re appreciative of USDA and Wildlife Services working to get this important predator control tool back into use just as many in the American sheep industry are beginning lambing,” said American Sheep Industry Association President Mike Corn of New Mexico. “This is a time of year when sheep are the most vulnerable, so having one more tool available to protect our livestock is crucial to the success of our industry.”
