November 1, 2013
A new article has been posted to the American Sheep Industry Association’s Sheep and Goat Research Journal. Tail Length at Docking and Weaning of Lambs written by Greg Lewis, Ph.D., is available by clicking on the Research Journal tab at www.sheepusa.org.
This study was conducted with crossbred lambs to measure tail length at docking and weaning and to determine the change in length between docking and weaning. Using a specially designed device, tail lengths were measured immediately after rubber ring application and at weaning. The data indicate clearly that tail length increased between docking and weaning.
