“American Meat” Makes its NYC Debut

A documentary film billing itself as a “pro-farmer look at chicken, hog and cattle production in America” opened at a New York City theater on Friday, following a series of screenings at universities and Future Farmers of America chapters in 10 states.
“American Meat,” by director Graham Meriwether, purports to take an even-handed look at animal husbandry, contrasting feedlots and confinement operations with grass-based farms, according to its website at www.americanmeatfilm.com. A local food movement has taken root nationwide, it notes, “but could it ever feed us all?”
The film was inspired by the book “The Omnivore’s Dilemma.”
