 \nMichigan State University will be hosting an online webinar series cal
 led "Optimizing sheep nutrition: a virtual management series". It will be 
 via Zoom on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm (Eastern time) from October 8
  until November 12.\nThis 6-part management webinar series will focus on n
 utritional management of the flock.  The instructors bring a wealth of kn
 owledge gained from years of research and practical experience working wit
 h producers on the nutritional management of sheep.  This program will be
  of interest to both beginning and experienced producers and will disc
 uss feeding systems and management approaches for both small flocks and 
 large-scale commercial farms.  Participants will receive access to all we
 binar recordings\, a ration balancing program\, and will be mailed a compe
 ndium of articles on the nutritional management of sheep as supplemental p
 rogram material.  \n\n\nProgram Agenda:\n\n\n\nSession 1\, Oct. 8. Fora
 ge quality. What is it and why does it matter for flock nutrition? Flock f
 eeding systems.\n\n\n\nSession 2\, Oct. 15. Understanding flock nutrition
 al requirements and how they influence nutritional management.\n\n\n\nSess
 ion 3\, Oct. 22. Strategic nutritional management of the ewe throughout t
 he production cycle.  \n\n\n\nSession 4\, Oct. 29. Feeding for growth: 
 market lamb and flock replacement ewe feeding strategies. \n\n\n\nSession
  5\, Nov. 5. The importance of supplements: minerals\, vitamins and cocci
 diostats.\n\n\n\nSession 6\, Nov. 12. Putting it all together with diet f
 ormulation for different feeding phases and production systems.\n\n\n\n T
 he cost is $30 per household. Each participant will receive a spiral bo
 und compendium on sheep nutritional management as a supplementary referen
 ce to reinforce course concepts as well as access to MSU Flock Feed– a 
 ration balancing program. International postage will be an extra charge. R
