Industry Partners
Thanks to the generosity of our Industry Partners, ASI can support a number of programs that are important to the sheep industry, along with wool and lamb companies. We include the sponsorship funds in our legislative and association budget annually, so we hope you will consider being an Industry Sponsor this year.
The 2022 ASI Convention will be held January 19-22, 2022 in San Diego, CA at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. This event is the widest attended opportunity to meet with the leaders in sheep production, feeding, lamb and wool processing, wool warehouses and trade, as well as promotion and research boards on an annual basis.
ASI secured nearly $160 million in assistance payments for sheep producers and lamb feeders and helped thousands of operations survive the severe disruptions of the of the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, many more millions were paid under the Wool Marketing Loan that ASI was able to resurrect. For some clips this was the only revenue available.
The association also navigated the international travel restrictions that prevented our annual trade missions of wool buyers to the US market with innovative use of videos featuring wool warehouses and wool exporters and buyers. We took the US wool story to the buyers!
ASI subsidiary, the Sheep Venture Company, in concert with Texas A&M has financed the manufacture and delivery of state-of-the-art commercial wool testing equipment and are in the final stage of set up and training. This is in response to the American wool industry commitment to have commercial testing in the United States!
I hope you will consider being a partner with us in 2022.
Below is an enrollment form offering various membership and sponsorship options. Please respond as early as possible so we can develop the digital or video components recognizing your contribution. December 31st, 2021, is the last opportunity to build the convention recognition so please bear this in mind when making your contribution.
Please contact President Shultz or Peter Orwick at 303-771-3500, ext. 103 with any questions or requests.
Special Thanks to our Industry Partners

Guard Dog Members
Please consider a contribution this year to lend the extra hand to protect the sheep industry on all fronts. This is the only way ASI can assist with or lead litigation. Annual dues from state associations are spent 100% on lobbying in Washington, D.C., so there is no balance left for litigation or legal analysis of federal decisions.
The program grows each year with additional sheep families deciding to help fund the legal arm of the sheep industry. We know activist groups that are targeting the sheep industry, such as Western Watershed Project and WildEarth Guardians in Montana and they raise money in the process to file more suits or appeals.
You are recognized nationally as the individuals and businesses that go the extra mile for the sheep industry. We receive positive feedback from the Guard Dog Member recognition in the monthly Sheep Industry News, as well as throughout the Annual Sheep Industry Convention.
If you are a returning member, I hope you will consider another contribution to the Guard Dog Program and continue to be part of the group of leaders that support the industry at a higher level. If you are a first time supporter, welcome to the program.
Sincerely,
Peter Orwick

Sheep Heritage Foundation
~ A charitable institution protecting the traditions of the U.S. sheep industry. ~
MISSION: Focusing solely on the U.S. sheep industry, the Sheep Heritage Foundation – a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation – is dedicated to enhancing the value of the sheep industry in the United States. It was established to create programs and projects that will assure solid opportunities for the future of the U.S. sheep industry.
MOTIVATION: You are proud to be associated with the U.S. sheep industry. Whether your family involvement is purebred, milk, sheepskin, wool for hand knitting, show lambs for youth programs or commercial wool and lamb production, a donation to the Sheep Heritage Foundation will help protect the livelihood of an industry that is near and dear to your heart.
To honor the memory of industry leaders and sheep producers. A donation to the Foundation is one of the many ways a family member or friend of the sheep industry can be remembered.
To protect the future of the U.S. sheep industry. A donation is an indication that you care about the industry’s potential in the years to come and for future generations.
To commemorate your family’s heritage and proud tradition in the industry. You and/or your family have contributed timeless hours to more than just a business, it’s your true love for the animals and the way of life that drives you. You are proud of your family’s role in producing lamb for America’s table, wool to clothe our families, as well as those serving the nation’s military. A donation will help assure that your hard work over the years is not forgotten; instead it will help perpetuate the industry.
SIGNIFICANCE: Your gift will help strengthen the industry, build programs that will ensure the industry’s success and enhance and defend the opportunities for U.S. sheep producers. The Foundation’s board of directors are committed to utilizing funds for the best scientific and educational projects of the industry. Additionally, the board is seeking matching funds from corporate, private and public entities to further stretch industry contributions.
DONATE: Consider a donation to uphold your family’s important heritage and preserve opportunities for today’s producers and for the generations that will raise sheep tomorrow.

RAMPAC
The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) political action committee (RAMPAC) provides political support for those U.S. Senators and Representatives who support the sheep industry. Every two years, each Representative and one-third of the Senators run for election and we need more support for those that share our values and beliefs.
Historically we have relied on ASI annual meeting attendees to capitalize RAMPAC. However, today’s trying times require more support and engagement, and we need to ask our entire membership to consider supporting the cause. Your $25 – $100 contribution would be a great help to this fund.
We are working with our supporters in Congress this year to address livestock trucking with the need for workable rules to transport sheep. We have repeatedly asked Congress to support us with predator control tools. We completed a farm bill with important sheep programs because key folks insisted that they be included. Throw in the emerging threats of fake and/or lab grown “meat”, trade distortion, and the never-ending attacks on our ability to control predators and you have a full plate.
For all the aforementioned reasons, and many more, it is more important than ever for key Members of Congress to see America’s sheep industry as an important ally in their effort to represent our interests. Simply stated, as a comparatively small livestock organization we must be vocal and active on multiple fronts. Not the least of which is political engagement.
If you share our passion for the industry and want to help us utilize this important tool please take the time to fill out the attached form and return with your donation using the self-addressed envelope. Your contribution of $25 or more can make a tangible difference in our efforts. If you are charging the donation, please give the billing address in the payment information.
Thank you for the consideration and, remember, those that are not sitting at the table are on the menu.
