2004 ASI Convention Update

Jan. 16, 2004 -- The 2004 American Sheep Industry Association / National Lamb Feeders Association Convention in Sacramento, Calif., is just around the corner. This time next week, councils and committees will be meeting and debating current issues of the sheep industry and proposed policy for the upcoming year.

Producer leaders from 41 states join industry directors?of the American Lamb Board, the National Sheep Industry Improvement Center and the National Lamb Feeders Association in numerous meetings from Jan. 21-24, 2004.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary Bill Hawks will address the Board of Directors at their annual meeting. Representatives from Canada, Australia and New Zealand also will be on hand to present the state of the sheep industry in each of their countries.
