Jan. 16, 2004 -- In a Federal Register posted on Thursday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) made public that it is accepting applications from state, regional and national lamb producer, seedstock producer, feeder and first handler organizations or associations that desire to be certified as eligible to nominate lamb producers for appointment to the Lamb Promotion, Research and Information Board, known as the American Lamb Board. Previously certified organizations do not need to reapply.

This 13-member board has been in existence since mid-2002 and consists of six producers, three packers or first handlers, three feeders and one seed-stock producer.
