Sheep Center Nominations

Dec. 19, 2003 -- The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI)?has nominated two individuals to fill?two?director seats on the board of the National Sheep Industry Improvement Center (NSIIC).

Bill Blake (Mich.) has been nominated for re-appointment to the marketing director seat.?Blake has spent his career in the lamb business and is eligible for another appointment to the board.

Clark Willis (Utah) will be put forward as the nominee for the?sheep producer director.?Willis manages a progressive sheep operation and would bring strong leadership skills and financial management expertise to the Center.

ASI publicly thanks?Jeanne McCormack of California for the producer representation she has provided over the past three years.?She will be retiring from the board.

"ASI recognizes the necessity of dedicated, well-informed and diligent directors to implement the missions and goals of the Center. We acknowledge the strong progress made by past directors and enthusiastically endorse these nominations to carry forward the important programs and funding opportunities developed in recent years," commented ASI President Guy Flora.

ASI is the sponsoring organization that created the Center in 1996 and the original ?Certified National Sheep Organization? to nominate directors to the board.??
