The U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) reported that it has teamed up with Cornell University to provide automatic e-mail delivery of comprehensive Market News information.
AMS Market News provides current, unbiased price and sales information through reports that include prices, volume, quality, condition and other market data on farm products in specific markets and marketing areas.
The system contains approximately 1,500 reports which may be searched by keyword or browsed by commodity. The system is designed to provide full-text reports in six commodity groups: cotton, dairy, fruit and vegetable, livestock and seed, poultry and tobacco.
According to AMS Administrator, A. J. Yates, ?By adding the option of direct e-mail delivery to every Market News report that we currently issue electronically, we are providing agricultural and rural communities an up-to-date tool to help them compete on a level playing field.?
