ASI Board of Directors Approves FY 2003/2004 Budget
The American Sheep Industry Association?s Board of Directors has given its unanimous stamp of approval to the association?s two FY 2003/2004 budgets.
Board members approved a $2,250,000 Wool Trust budget, which will fund key wool-oriented areas such as market and product development, market research and accessibility, international marketing and raw wool quality improvement. Other key wool areas include wool production, quality assurance, technology, producer communications and wool outreach state-initiated activities.
When combined with funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Foreign Agricultural Service, the 2003/2004 Wool Trust budget will total more than $2,991,000.
The Board also unanimously approved an industry-funded budget for legislative and membership activities from 42 state affiliates, totaling $165,011, which make up most of this budget revenue.
The budgets were developed and recommended by ASI Wool Council and Executive Board members.
ASI?s 2003/2004 fiscal year begins Oct. 1, 2003.
