4-Percent Interest Sheep & Goat Industry Loans Available
The National Livestock Producers Association?s (NLPA) Sheep & Goat Fund Committee announced on Sept. 5, 2003, the availability of loans at 4-percent interest for projects aimed at improving the U.S. sheep and goat industries.
The committee has extended 32 loans totaling more than $6.9 million to 26 entities in 17 states, leaving approximately $7 million in available funding.
?Loans have been made in many areas, including genetic development, sheep and goat dairies, lamb and goat meat processing and fiber processing,? said NLPA Sheep & Goat Fund Committee Chairman Richard Drake. ?The Sheep & Goat Fund Committee will consider any worthwhile project that will benefit our industry.?
The Fund is being used to benefit all sectors of the U.S. sheep and goat industries, with the sole exception of production loans, which are outside the scope of the loan program.
