Lamb Dinner Raises Money for Worthy Cause

August 15, 2005

August 2005 -- More than 280 people were served at a lamb dinner sponsored by the Utah Wool Growers Association (UWGA), in cooperation with the Tremonton Women?s Civic League. The proceeds of the June 18 fundraising event were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The event stemmed from a UWGA goal to introduce more people in the state of Utah to lamb.

?The event turned out wonderful,? says Clark Willis, director of the UWGA. ?The setting was beautiful, the food was incredible and we raised more than $2,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was donated to a local family.?

The lamb was donated by the UWGA, which was prepared by a chef from the Copper Mill in Logan, Utah, who cooked lamb chops and leg of lamb.

?We plan to continue this event and possibly move it to other locations in the state,? says Willis. ?Not only is the Make-A-Wish Foundation a worthy cause, but we also attain our goal of promoting Utah lamb.?
