The latest statistics and forecasts from Australia and New Zealand, the largest and third largest producing countries of wool in the world, confirm the continued low level of production and supply of wool. For the first five months of the 2013-2014 season in Australia (July to November), the volume of wool tested was down by 3 percent. This is in line with, but a little more than, the decline predicted in the official forecast released in August. An updated forecast will be released in mid-December.
