Charleston is the nation's fourth busiest container port. Each day, an average of six vessels sail into the South Carolina harbors carrying cargo worth more than $150 million. The South Carolina Ports Authority operates the state's seaport assets in Charleston and Georgetown, a $45 billion-a-year economic engine.
