The American Sheep Industry Association's (ASI) Bylaws Committee, as appointed by ASI President Clint Krebs, met by conference call to discuss possible updates to the organizations bylaws. Items of discussion included the composition of the regions and recommendations for office elections and policy review at the annual meetings.
According to committee chair, David Trotter, sheep producer from Indiana, the initial findings indicate the eight regions of the association are sufficiently aligned and the election process of officers can be clarified but may not require an actual bylaw change to accommodate. The committee intends to define the policy approval process to avoid the presentation of last minute policies to the board of directors without advance review by the policy councils.
Trotter encourages input from the board of directors. He can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org

The Bylaws Committee is represented by one member from each of the eight regions and the National Lamb Feeders Association.
