The American Sheep Industry Association is continuing its series of webinars. Register now for the Aug. 27 webinar entitled A New Approach to Parasite Management in Sheep. The session will begin at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Presenters from Fort Valley State University, including Will Getz, Ph.D., professor of animal science and extension specialist, and Thomas Terrill, Ph.D., assistant professor of animal science, will discuss the current state of thinking on best management practices for control of internal parasites in sheep. This will include reducing dependence upon anthelmintic de-wormers through the use of diagnostic tools that allow targeted selective treatment of only the animals in the flock that actually need it, as well as the use of alternative (non-chemical) control technologies in an integrated parasite management system.
Jay Parsons, Ph.D., Colorado State University and Optimal Ag, will host the webinar. To register, to go https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1380605426180728576.
A second webinar is scheduled for Sept. 10 with Nancy Irlbeck, Ph.D., Colorado State University, talking about sheep nutrition as it pertains to wool production.
