The New York Times is inviting readers to enter a contest by writing an essay on why you believe it is ethical to eat meat. The prize is having your essay published in The New York Times.
This is a very specific contest. Don't write about why you like meat, why organic trumps local or why your food is yours to choose. Just tell the Times why it's ethical to eat meat.
Send written entries of no more than 600 words to ethicist@nytimes.com. Entries are due by April 8; no late submissions will be considered. The best essay or essays will be published in an upcoming issue of the paper.
