Risk Management Education Funds Available

The four regional Risk Management Education Centers announced funding opportunities for projects that help farm and ranch families succeed through targeted risk management strategies. Awards will fund projects conducted between July 1, 2012, and June 30, 2013. Grant awards are generally between $5,000 and $50,000; however, there is no absolute upper or lower limit on the funds provided to a single project.
The two-stage online grant application process (pre-proposal and full proposal application) is fully explained on the regional websites. The regional sites can be accessed at www.csrees.usda.gov/nea/economics/in_focus/farm_if_risk.html#regional.
The pre-proposal stage of the process is due by 5 p.m. PST on Dec. 8.
