DOL Extends Comment Period on Child Labor Rule

The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) has been informed that a request for an extension to comment on the Department of Labor's (DOL) proposed rule on child labor on farms has been granted. A 30-day extension to Dec. 1 has been awarded.
Organizations representing production agriculture, including ASI, requested a 90-day extension. Currently, the comment period closes on Nov. 1.
All farmers and ranchers who might be impacted by this DOL regulation are asked to submit comments at www.regulations.gov/#!submitComment;D=WHD-2011-0001-0001.
