
November 2004 -- U.S. Department of Agriculture?s (USDA) Secretary Ann M. Veneman announced Sept. 21, 2004, the launch of a nationwide Electronic Loan Deficiency Payment (eLDP) service.
?The eLDP program allows producers to apply for and receive Loan Deficiency Payments online from remote locations such as their homes or offices,? stated Veneman.
Wool, mohair and unshorn pelts are included in the list of commodities with access to the eLDP service.
To register, go to: www.sc.egov.usda.govon the Internet and complete form CCC-634-E, ?Request for Electronic Loan Deficiency Payment Services.?
Eligible producers must have an active USDA eAuthentication Level 2 account, which requires completing an on-line registration form at the above address, followed by a visit to the local USDA Service Center for identity verification.
The new e-service is just one of many services being implemented by USDA to better serve individuals and businesses nationwide.
