
November 2004 -- Kevin Shea has been named associate administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
?Kevin has been an asset to this agency for more than 25 years,? stated APHIS Administrator W. Ron DeHaven. ?During that time, he has shown an intense interest in APHIS issues and exceptional ability to get the job done.?
This is one of two associate administrator positions under the current APHIS management structure. In it, Shea will act as APHIS? chief operating officer, ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the agency.
Shea will leave his position as the deputy administrator of APHIS? policy and program development to accept this position.
