ASI Executive Board Meets Next Week

February 18, 2011

The executive board of the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) set its winter meeting for Feb. 24-25 in Denver, Colo.

The top agenda item for this meeting is the appointment of council and committee members for 2011. Funding to launch the 2+2+2=Rebuild campaign designed to increase sheep numbers will be considered as well as the evaluation of the U.S. Army tour in February of the wool superwash equipment.

"State associations have been nominating producer leaders to the ASI councils and committees throughout February so that the President, with executive board input, can set the leadership roster for 2011. Naming leadership early in the year allows the association to begin the implementation of the policies approved by the board of directors during the annual convention in January," commented Peter Orwick, ASI executive director.
