November 2004 -- The former Blackbelly Barbados Sheep Association International has changed its name to the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association International.
The order of the words in the former title went ?against taxonomic convention and led to mass confusion as to what the sheep should be called,? reports James Harper.
BBSAI members also voted to use the name ?American Blackbelly? when referring to horned bloodlines of Barbados sheep that meet breed standards and are registered with the BBSAI.
