See-Thru Fuel Tank Filters Helping Reduce Engine Repair
The Dutton-Lainson Co. has available see-thru fuel tank filters. The easy-to-use, cost-effective D-L?/GoldenRod? filters, remove contaminants from fuel, rust, dirt, scale, lint ? even water, says Dutton-Lainson.
The 496 Water-Block filter can be used by itself or in conjunction with the 495 fuel filter. The 496 Water-Block fuel filter has a special element containing water-absorbing polymers that provide excellent water-trapping capabilities and 15-micron particle filtration. The filter is self-signaling for replacement, restricting fuel flow when the element is fully saturated.
The 496 filter features easy, inline installation and has a zinc die-cast top cap and alcohol-resistant bowl. It allows working pressures to 150 psi and is available in ?-inch or 1-inch pipe fittings.

Two-Stage Diesel Fuel Purification Systems Providing Engine Protection
Dieselcraft Fluid Engineering is offering supplemental engine protection via existing Racor or OEM filters on diesel engines. The two-stage system removes 99 percent of water and 95 percent of solids in fuel without filters in the first stage and then attaches the sub-micron contaminants and bacteria in the fuel in stage two of the system.
All that is needed is for the system drain to be opened and checked for contaminants when the engine oil is checked. The routine inspection will remove contaminants before they become a repair issue, and filter life will at least double.
Dieselcraft Fuel Purification Systems are supplied in seven models, ranging from 5 gallons per-hour flow rates to 2,500 gallons per hour. The most common units are: Model 5-29S for engines with fuel pump capacities from 5-29 GPH and ?-inch fuel lines, and Model 30-200S for engines with fuel pump capacity of 30-200 GPH and 3/8-inch or ?-inch fuel lines.
