October 2004 -- The American Sheep Industry Association?s (ASI) Board of Directors has unanimously approved the association?s 2004-2005 budgets, which will fund services, programs and operations.
In all, three ballots were cast: (1) The first for the American Wool Trust for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2004, running through Sept. 30, 2005; (2) The second for the Fund II budget of ASI, which is utilized for legislative and membership activities of the association as well as non-wool trust and association services; and (3) lastly, the dues assessment rate. (It was recommended that the rate remain the same as the current year: 3 cents per stock sheep and $6 per member.)
"It is encouraging to have unanimous approval on all three ballot items," stated ASI Executive Director Peter Orwick. "The board of directors publicly stamped their approval for continuing the crucial services and programs provided to the industry for the next fiscal year."
Fifty-six certified voters were given the annual responsibility of reviewing and casting their votes for the next fiscal year budgets.
