
Cindy Wolf, DVM, Minnesota sheep producer and assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, has been nominated to the Secretary of Agriculture's Advisory Committee on Animal Health by the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI).
Wolf is nationally known as a small ruminant specialist. She spent the last 25 years working with many diverse groups on animal health and is a co-author/creator of many scrapie educational materials. She has also traveled outside the United States with regards to sheep health and production projects.
"Cindy has devoted much of her life to the betterment of animal health through her work and her own sheep and beef farms," commented Glen Fisher, ASI president. "The sheep industry owes much to her leadership and tireless participation in many public and committee meetings."
The committee advises the secretary on means to prevent, conduct surveillance, monitor, control or eradicate animal diseases of national importance while considering public health, conservation of natural resources and the stability of livestock economies.
