Socks for Soldiers

May 21, 2010

Vermont National Guard soldiers now have one less thing to worry about while in Iraq and Afghanistan: cold feet. Lenny's Shoe and Apparel and Darn Tough Vermont Socks have launched a program this month called "Socks for Soldiers." For every pair of socks sold at Lenny's in May, Lenny's and Darn Tough will donate a pair of socks to serving Vermont National Guard soldiers. The goal of the promotion is to donate 300 pairs to troops on active duty.

Todd McCarthy, vice president of Lenny's, stated, "A good pair of socks can really make a difference. Wool naturally wicks moisture from the skin. The temperature where the deployed men and women are is perfect for these socks. Hot or cold, wool works great in both conditions."

The Socks for Soldiers promotion is taking place at Lenny's retailers in Vermont. The promotion ends May 31. More information can be found online at www.lennyshoe.com/ad_darntough.html.
