Vermont Organic Fiber Co. is going through a voluntary liquidation and will no longer be sourcing certified organic wool or selling products made with that wool. This is the message received this morning from Matthew Mole, president and founder of the company.
Mole wrote that "the economic downturn and difficult banking environment has made it infeasible for us to continue. While Vermont Organic Fiber is closing, the O-Wool line of hand knitting yarns will continue under new ownership.
"None of this would have been possible were it not for you - the wool growers who produce the wool for our products; our partner spinning, knitting, weaving and dyeing mills; and our loyal customers," concluded Mole.
