Prince Charles Says Buy More Wool

February 19, 2010

During the Carpet and Flooring Show "SURFACES" held in Las Vegas, Nev., in early February, a video message from Prince Charles was officially launched in an attempt to kick start a wool awareness campaign. The campaign will roll out in the form of a "wool week" in the United Kingdom in September of this year with a goal to boost the use of wool in the middle and value retail markets.

The video shows the Prince is not only stating that wool should be used; he is stating that "chemical fibers" should be avoided at all costs. The video can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1Nfa4I-DMs.

The project of promoting wool with Prince Charles is a project initiated jointly by British Wool Marketing Board, the New Zealand wool industry and Woolmark. It is also supported by the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO). Additional details about the project will be provided at the IWTO Congress in Paris/Rambouillet in May 2010.
