CWGA Holds Annual Meeting
September 15, 2004
September 2004 -- The Colorado Woolgrowers Association
held its annual meeting July 22-24, 2004, in Frisco, Colo. Key topics included
wolf-management planning in the state, discussion on animal identification and
the American Lamb Board and a terrific on-site demonstration by Colorado State
University on the Sheep Safety & Quality Assurance program regarding proper
injection sites and techniques. Under the SSQA program, producers and feeders
saw first hand the impact on meat quality from improper injection sites. Lambs
slaughtered that morning had been injected up to 30 days in advance so that
convention attendees could view the impact and see why certain locations in the
animal are the most effective.
