ASI APPROVE REQUEST FOR SECTION 32 FUNDING

The American Sheep Industry Association's (ASI) board of directors unanimously approved a request that a section 32 lamb meat purchase program be authorized for additional funding by the AMS to help sheep producers in 2010. Section 32 funds for this year would pull through stronger prices for lamb purchases.
In a letter to Craig Morris, President of the American Sheep Industry Association, Glen Fisher, praised AMS for their support of the lamb industry. This letter can be viewed at Section 32 Lamb Request Letter.
ASI is a national organization supported by 45 state sheep associations, benefiting the interest of more than 82,000 sheep producers.
