Darci L. Vetter will serve as the deputy under secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Farm and Foreign Agricultural Service.
Vetter served on the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance as an international trade advisor before joining USDA. Her experience includes serving as director of agricultural affairs for the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and director of sustainable development.
The American Sheep Industry Association worked with Vetter in her role for finance committee chairman Sen. Max Baucus (Mont.) on sheep issues including the current effort to suspend tariffs on nylon wool packs.
