Ministers to Meet Wool Industry Over Credit Insurance

October 9, 2009

The Australian federal government will meet members of the wool industry in late October to discuss wool export credit insurance issues.

Agriculture Minister Tony Burke and Trade Minister Simon Crean will meet with Australian Wool Innovation, WoolProducers Australia and the Australian Council of Wool Exporters and Processors.

Credit insurance is needed when exporters sell goods overseas in case customers don't pay. The global credit crisis has meant commercial insurance providers are leaving the market, leaving customers with no insurance.
