Progress of LIP Payments

Producers are reminded that the deadline to report livestock losses for the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) that incurred between Jan. 1, 2008, and July 13, 2009, must be filed at the local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office by Sept. 13, 2009.
It has been brought to the attention of the American Sheep Industry Association that the software needed to process LIP payments has not yet been made available to county FSA offices. The majority of payments will, therefore, be delayed until the software is completed and distributed.
