Sheep Industry History Online

The American Heritage Center (AHC), located on the University of Wyoming (UW) campus in Laramie, Wyo., is the holding place for records and memorabilia for a variety of different organizations, businesses and people. The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) has donated much of its past records to the center, as have the Wyoming Wool Growers Association and the Suffolk Sheep Association.

The staff of the center recently logged the content of the 199 boxes of information that ASI has donated to their care. The collection, number 09711, is arranged into three series -- American Sheep Producer's Council, National Wool Growers Association and American Sheep Industry Association.
