2010 Ag Appropriations Being Considered

The U.S. Senate version of the fiscal year 2010 Agriculture Appropriations Bill (S. 1406) is currently pending floor action. It is uncertain whether the legislation will be considered before the August recess, which begins Aug. 8.

"This is the time for producers to contact their senators about supporting state directed funds," commented Bob Benson (Ind.), co-chair of the American Sheep Industry Association Legislative Action Council. "In order for funding to be allocated to state programs, it will need to be included in this appropriations bill, which may be considered before the Aug. 8 recess."
