Livestock Indemnity Program Update

Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices are now accepting Livestock Indemnity Program applications for sheep losses in excess of normal mortality due to adverse weather such as hurricanes, floods, blizzards, disease, wildfires, extreme heat and extreme cold. Losses must have occurred on or after Jan. 1, 2008, and before Oct. 1, 2011.
At this time, the American Sheep Industry Association understands that FSA will begin processing payments as of Monday, July 20, and payment rates will be $130 for rams, $102 for lambs and $82 for ewes.
