Push to Preserve WS Continues

As part of a continuing message, 84 national and state food producer, wildlife, sportsmen and resource organizations reiterated their strong support for the continuation of the Wildlife Services program overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. The letter was sent to Chairman David Obey (Wisc.) and Ranking Member Jerry Lewis (Calif.) of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations asking them to oppose any effort to restrict or eliminate funding for this critical program.

Industry groups stressed their appreciation for the leadership and strong support shown for this essential program and offered assistance to ensure a continued federal partnership in the responsible management of our nation's wildlife.
