Niche Meat Processors Webinar Scheduled

The Niche Meat Processors Assistance Network (NMPAN) will host a webinar on building a small meat processing plant on May 26, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The webinar is designed to help meat processors understand the process and pitfalls of plant design and construction.

Speakers will include Mike Willet from the Iowa State University Engineering program, who will discuss how to decide when to expand your facility; Keith DeHann, Food and Livestock Planning Inc. will discuss common problems and oversights when building a new plant; and Arion Thiboumery, NMPAN Coordinator, will overview the "Guide to Designing a Small Red Meat Plant with Two Sizes of Model Designs," a new resource published by Iowa State University Extension.
