The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) this week launched a Web site targeted at consumers. The site, Your Agriculture, www.fb.org/yourag, is aimed at educating the non-farming public about agriculture issues, farmers and ranchers and the food, fiber and fuel they grow.
"The average American is three generations removed from the farm and does not have a clear understanding of where their food comes from," said Don Lipton, AFBF director of public relations. "We hope this new Web Site will help us engage in conversation with consumers about modern agricultural production while shedding light on issues faced by America's farmers and ranchers."
Short video segments designed to engage consumers in a positive dialogue about animal care is a great step toward educating the general public on the care producers take toward their livestock.
