Deadline for ASGC Nominations Near

November 7, 2008 - Producers interested in being nominated to the board of directors of the American Sheep and Goat Center (ASGC) should contact the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) to make your interest known.

This fall, the ASGC announced that it is accepting nominations to its board for three voting directors' positions whose terms expire in 2009. Additionally, it is accepting nominations for one newly created board of director position. The total board membership has been set at nine directors.

The open board seats are currently held by Chase Hibbard (Mont.), Paul Lewis (Ore.) and Tim Turner, DVM, (Texas). Each member is eligible for reappointment. The board members manage and oversee the activities of the sheep center.

ASI plans to submit recommendations to this board. In order to meet the Dec. 1 deadline, anyone interested in being considered should contact Peter Orwick, porwick@sheepusa.org, before Nov. 24.
