Wool Army Blanket Solicitation Issued

September 28, 2007 - The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia posted a pre-solicitation notice requesting olive green U.S. Army blankets.

The solicitation calls for between 49,000 blankets and 235,000 blankets of a size equal to 66 inches by 84 inches to be manufactured. The specifications for this blanket allow for the use of up to 35 percent reprocessed wool.

Over the three-year life of the contract, the wool consumption required for the production of these blankets will range from a minimum of 123,000 pounds of clean 23 micron to 29-micron U.S. wool to as much as 880,000 pounds of clean 23 micron to 29-micron U.S. wool if all new wool is used.

This is a 100 percent small business set-aside solicitation.
