June 1, 2007 - The New Zealand government is predicting investment in the information technology industry could make it more valuable than the wool industry within a decade.
On Tuesday, Economic Development Minister Trevor Mallard launched Nextspace, a center to develop New Zealand's 3D digital and graphics industry.
Mallard says information technology and communication could be more economically valuable to New Zealand than the entire wool industry within a decade.
Mallard says supporting Nextspace is at the heart of the government's economic transformation agenda. Reprinted from Radio New Zealand
