ASI Granted Extension on ALB Nominations

April 27, 2007

April 27, 2007 - Due to a delay in the delivery of the nomination materials, the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) has been granted additional time to submit its choices to the Lamb Promotion, Research and Information Board, more commonly know as the American Lamb Board (ALB).

As a national certifying organization, ASI is authorized to nominate individuals to the two producer-director positions that are up for appointment. The positions include those of Sandra Snider (Wyo.), who represents producers owning 100 head of sheep or less annually, and Lorin Moench, Jr. (Utah), who represents producers owning more than 500 head annually. Both Snider and Moench are eligible for re-nomination to the board.

Producers who are interested in being considered as a producer nominee to this board and who fit into one of these two categories are encouraged to contact their state sheep producer association, ASI regional representative or ASI state director.

Applications must be received at the ASI office on or before May 11, 2007.
