2004 Convention: Wool Trust Report Presented to Board of Directors

Mar/Apr 2004 -- As is specified by the Wool Trust contract, the 2003 Wool Trust Report to Congress was presented to the American Sheep Industry Association's (ASI) board of directors at their annual meeting in January.

ASI Executive Director Peter Orwick relayed the key points of the Wool Trust, including the Wool Trust Foundation, which exclusively handles the trust monies.

ASI contracts with the Wool Trust Foundation to deliver key programs for the wool industry with an emphasis on industry communications, animal health and domestic and international wool programs. These wool-oriented, non-industry funds are available to ASI through 2006.

"Our wool programs have been very successful this year," said Orwick. "The wool warehousemen who work in the wool industry day-in and day-out have commented repeatedly that ASI is delivering the best American wool programs they have seen in many years."
