Convention Update

December 28, 2006

December 29, 2006 - The deadline for discounted registration for the 2007 American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) Annual Convention, Jan. 24-27, 2007, in San Antonio, Texas, is quickly approaching and ASI members are urged to register this week to take advantage of the savings.

For the fourth consecutive year, ASI will be meeting jointly with the National Lamb Feeders Association and hosting multiple industry organizations at the convention. Also gathering in San Antonio in January will be the American Lamb Board, the American Sheep and Goat Center, the National Livestock Producers Association and the Western Range Association along with ASI Women and those involved in the Make It With Wool national competition.

To take advantage of the discounted price, registration forms must be postmarked no later than Jan. 9, 2007.

We anticipate a very successful convention in San Antonio and look forward to meaningful industry discussions. Some of the workshops to be held include:

-an estate planning workshop, giving attendees an opportunity to examine the variety of estate planning tools available;

-a workshop to learn about the latest news on drug-resistant parasites, parasite management and breeding for parasite resistance;

-a symposium dedicated to teaching about the new Livestock Risk Protection-Lamb product;

-an adjusted gross revenue insurance workshop, providing attendees with information on policy requirements and limitations; and

-a meeting dedicated to seedstock producers to gather and discuss issues.
