Wool Labeling Act Passes House

September 22, 2006

September 22, 2006 - The Wool Suit Fabric Labeling Fairness and International Standards Conforming Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives this week. The Act is to amend the Wool Products Labeling Act of 1939 to revise the requirements for labeling of certain wool and cashmere products.

The legislation has been referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) reviewed the legislation and found no concerns with the language. ASI understands the wool textile industry is pleased with the bill.
