USDA Designates Disaster Area

September 15, 2006 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture designated additional counties in California, New York and Texas as primary agricultural disaster areas.
Qualified farmer operators in these areas are eligible for low-interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency and have eight months from the date of declaration to apply for loans to help cover part of their actual losses.
