September 8, 2006 - Rebecca Thompson began her career with the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) on Sept. 1, 2006, as associate director of resource management.
Thompson recently received her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Development with an emphasis in public relations and political science from Texas A&M. She has held positions as legislative intern and administrative aide for Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and State Rep. Rick Hardcastle (District 68-Texas), respectively.
In her new position, Thompson will be working with state leaders on resource issues, participating in state and national meetings on resource priorities and monitoring regulatory issues.

"A full-time individual working for sheep producers on natural resource issues is a big step forward to helping ASI meet the needs of the industry," comments Peter Orwick, ASI executive director.
The ASI Board of Directors approved the budget to support this staff position for the 2006 fiscal year.
